On this Myanmar cycle tour you will average 8 hours in the saddle a day, thus it requires participants to be in optimum fitness. Begin in Yangon where you will tour the city's colonial and religiously affiliated sites before you set off on your adventure to Bago, 80 km northwest of the capital. Here, you will tap in Burma's history with visits to the Allied War Cemetery and the country's most venerated pagoda, Shwemawdaw. Continue on to Kyaityio, home of the Golden Rock one of the holiest and most awe-inspiring sites in Asia. Bike to Tha Hton the capital of the Mon Kingdom in the 3rd century, where you will absorb local lifestyles and witness unspoiled natural environs. Embark on a days cycling back to Mamlamyaing through rustic landscapes and small villages, stopping en-route at the village of Kyaikmayaw. The Myanmar tour culminates when you cycle to Set Se Beach where you can relax at your leisure or explore the local surroundings by bike. This 11-day biking the Mon Sate Tour from Yangon to Mamlamyaing is a massively rewarding experience and opportunity to c\travel through the rural heart of the country. Day 1 - Arrive Yangon
This afternoon, your journey begins with a tour around the city, walking by graceful colonial buildings and glittering stupas as well as observing the lifestyle of the local people. Proceed to the National Museum, where you will learn more about the culture and history of the country, and Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda to visit the 70m long reclining Buddha. At the end today, we reach Myanmar’s holiest monument, the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda with its golden stupa covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf. Dinner is at your leisure. Optional Visit: The Thiripyitsaya Sky Bistro is perched on the 20th floor of Sakura Tower, overlooking panoramic views of metropolis. From here, one can get the scenic view of Yangon River and the environs. After breakfast, your journey begins with a biking trip to Bago (5 hours). Bago is located 80kms to the northwest of Yangon and served as the capital of the Mon Kingdom of Lower Myanmar during the 15th century. Stop to visit the Allied War Cemetery near the town of Htaukkyant, the final resting place for over 27,000 Allied soldiers who fought in Burma. Upon reaching Bago, visit the beautiful 55-meter long reclining Buddha, called Shwethalyaung, and the Mon style pagoda of Shwemawdaw. Shwemawdaw is one of the most venerated pagodas in Myanmar and its majestic spire stands 114m high, taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda! Also stop to visit the old Kambozathadi Palace and the huge 4 sitting Buddha’s at Kyaikpun Bago by bike. Dinner at local restaurant Overnight in Bago. Day 3 - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo (B,L,D)

After breakfast return to the Golden Rock Pagoda for a walk around the shrines and to take in the beautiful vistas before descending to Kinpun. Enjoy lunch at Mountain View Hotel in Kyaikthto, a thirty minute drive from Kinpun. After lunch, visit to Ma Yan Cho ancient pagoda and bike to Kyaikhto. On the way to Kyaikhto stop to visit the orphanage school at Seik Phu Taung. By making a small donation of cash or school supplies you will ensure a brighter future for these orphaned children. Upon reaching Kyaikhto, enjoy a cup of tea and relax after your day of cycling. Overnight stay at Sein Le Tin Resort, Kyaikhto. Day 5 - Sein Le Tin Resort -Tha Hto (B,L,D)
This afternoon, resume your journey with a bike ride through unspoiled natural areas and small villages. The ride provides you with an opportunity to learn about culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the local people. Dinner at local restaurant. Day 6 - Tha Hton - Mawlamyaing (B,L,D)
Upon arrival in Mawlamyaing, spend the remainder of today sightseeing by bike. Visit the town’s largest pagoda, Mahamuni Pagoda, which is located at the northern end of the town. It is a good representation of the Mon Style architecture as it features covered brick walkways linking its many buildings. Continue to Seindon Mibaya Kyaung, the monastery where King Mindon's Queen Seindon sought refugee after the last monarchy was overthrown. As today comes to a close, enjoy watching the sun set over Thanlwin River from Kyaikthanlan Pagoda, the highest and most visible pagoda hill in town. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Mawlamyaing Day 7 - Mawlamyaing - Set Se Beach (B,L,D) Day 8 - Set Se Beach (B,L,D)After breakfast, enjoy today at your leisure. Relax on the beach, go swimming, or take a short bike ride around the area. Overnight stay at Set Se Beach. Day 9 - Set Se Beach - Kyaikmayaw - Mawlamyaing (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we set off for a long day of cycling back to Mamlamyaing (Approximately 7 ½ hours) Stop en route to visit the village of Kyaikmayaw where you experience the local culture first hand. Continue this afternoon to cycle through unspoiled landscapes and small villages. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and enjoy the remainder of today at your leisure. Overnight stay in Mawlamyaing. Day 10 - Mawlamyaing - Yangon (BY TRAIN) (B,L,D)
After breakfast, spend this morning relaxing and resting your legs. Transfer to the local railway station for the public train ride to Yangon. The scenery is gorgeous as you travel through the countryside and through small townships on the way to Yangon. Lunch onboard the train. (Lunch Box) Upon arrival at Yangon, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Yangon Day 11 - Depart Yangon (B)
After breakfast, explore downtown Yangon on foot, through streets filled with faded colonial atmosphere and bustling local markets. Lunch at Local Restaurant. (Own Account) This afternoon, there may be time to visit the Bogyoke Market before transferring to the airport for your onward flight. Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott Market) is the perfect place to peruse the stalls for lacquer ware, jewelry, handicrafts, and other Burmese souvenirs. (Note: the market is closed on Mondays and public holidays)
