Vehicles
On treks, all equipment and luggage will be carried by porters or by the support vehicle. Try to keep baggage to a minimum weight. Often a cook will accompany the tour.
Depending on the nature of the trekking tour, there will be a private air-conditioned bus, minibus or jeep that will operate transfers between destinations. Some treks may require you to carry your own gear.
Accommodation
Two-person tents with sewn-in ground sheets and mosquito nets are used for treks in the more remote areas. Accommodation can also be provided in local village homestays. Here the family may supply a simple mattress, mosquito net, pillow, sheet and blanket or in the case of remote locations, bedding will be provided by Exotissimo. The houses are usually on stilts with a bamboo wooden floor and are surprisingly comfortable. The facilities are clean but very basic.
Equipment
We provide world-class equipment on our adventure tours.

Food and Drink
Asia is a culinary delight, and almost all meals are taken in clean, friendly local restaurants and café's. Of course, there would be no adventure without the occasional challenge, so sometimes in remote areas food is simple, but its always plentiful and we rarely have a situation where we go hungry or thirsty, even for people with special dietary requirements.
Trekking Grades
Easy: Experience is not necessary at this level: anyone who is in good health and fit enough to enjoy a good weekend hill walk can manage this grade.
Moderate: You need to be in good health and reasonably fit, and you will almost certainly be taking regular exercise.
Challenging: For any trek at his level, fitness is most important and you may have to improve yours before departure. Challenging treks are equivalent to extended walking in mountain terrain, at significant higher altitudes.
Difficult: Some experience of trekking at altitude is desired. Trekkers must be able to cope with difficult paths on steep mountainsides. Extremes of altitude and weather may also be encountered. Stamina is very important, as walking days can be from 6 to 9 hours.
